Lynn, Massachusetts has a large Khmer population, but their language is dwindling. From 1975-1979, Khmer culture was almost obliterated by the Khmer Rouge, who killed 2 million Cambodians. The educated and the artists were especially targeted. Due to the destruction of the education system and the educated, most survivors do not know how to read or write Khmer.

Living Fields' Khmer School seeks to preserve the language for 2nd generation Cambodians and non-Cambodians.

Khmer Language School meets every Sunday at 1 p.m. at Living Fields Church to learn how to read, write and speak the Khmer language. Enrollment is open to students of all ages.

Student are charged a $20 registration fee at the time of enrollment, that is refundable if they do not miss any classes during the semester.

Email info@livingfields.org for more information or to register.
